They had noise canceling headphones on and I had ear plugs in, and while it’s needed for the actual event that’s mindblowingly loud, I couldn’t hear anything they were saying. There wasn’t any constant asking of “When does this start?” or “When are the trucks coming?”īy far, the funniest and probably most annoying part of the event was trying to talk to my kids. As a parent of impatient young children, it was nice to have the combination of colouring pages and something (literally anything) happening down below.

We ate, we coloured the free Monster Jam sheets, and then at 12:30, the drivers came out one-by-one to do some mini interviews with two Monster Jam hosts. Once seated, we had about an hour to kill. We didn’t have to deal with the crowded food lineups and confusion of finding our seats. I’d recommend ducking out a bit early if you’ve got your desired autographs. We left the Pit Party a bit early and made our way to the food stands where we ordered some food to take to our seats. It’s fun for the kids, but it really is a lot of standing around and waiting for the main event. When you finally get to the front of the line, there’s a huge monster truck and a driver with a friendly smile and thumbs up waiting for a picture to be snapped. We entered the arena full of dirt and long ropes guiding massive lineups. (People wait hours in line for concert tickets or a picture with their favourite celeb - this is very much the same thing.) I’ve never been a superfan of anything and don’t like waiting in long lines (especially at Wonderland), but I could definitely see the appeal for those who just want to be in an arena filled with the energy of like-minded people who are here for some monstrous fun. Although, maybe it would have been different at a stadium show. and truthfully, it was underwhelming, to say the least.
